THE CONSTRUCTION OF CORRENTIAS FOOTBRIDGE IN ORIHUELA HAS BEEN AWARDED TO ECISA

11/2019

The Spanish high-speed rail administrator, ADIF AV, has awarded the construction of the ‘Correntías’ footbridge in Orihuela, Alicante to Ecisa. This company won the public competition between 6 different contractors, with a high technical grade and a price of €780,000 after taxes. The works comprise the replacement of an existing steel footbridge, which spans the high-speed railway line from Obispo Rocamora Street to Bigastro Road, with a new concrete structure.
The new footbridge will fulfill the latest accessibility and safety standards and will provide the place with a renovated aesthetic thanks to the attention payed on the details, such as the handrail, the fence, and the LED lighting. Moreover, the material of the new structure and the absence of expansion joints along the whole deck will low the maintenance costs during the footbridge service life.
FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores designed this footbridge and developed the Construction Project along with AudingIntraesa, in a joint venture.
