Structural typology: Building
Date: July, 2008
Owner: Valencia C.F.
Construction: FCC- Bertolín
Scope: Detail Design and Technical Support

The stadium is situated in the Av. de las Cortes Valencianas and will hold approximately 75,000 spectators. The stadium is elliptical in shape has car parking below ground level and three stand levels above grade.

The foundation is composed of a solid slab which has depths varying between 0.75m, 1.00m and 1.60m depending on the loads transmitted by the columns and the walls belonging to the communication cores, where the soil had to be improved below these levels.

In general, the expansion-joint free structure is composed of hollow slabs which rest upon reinforced or pre-stressed beams which are 1.2m wide and 0.65m deep. The ground and third floors have been built with a 0.3m deep solid slab so that the horizontal loads from the metal roof trusses can be transmitted to the vertical communication cores.

The vertical structure is composed of reinforced concrete columns cast in-situ, along with 8 extremely rigid vertical communication cores which receive the horizontal loads from the roof and transmit them to the foundation unit.

The roof and façade receive their shape from deep steel trusses which are made up from circular profiles.
